What is a solvent used for?

Industrial uses: removes most paints and graffiti, removes rust, removes enamel, removes oil stains, removes wood preservatives, removes glue, cleans alloy wheels, removes nail polish, cleans print heads, cleans printed circuit boards, removes resin and bitumen, cleans brakes, helps with floor stripping.
